We saw more of last night than most nights due to a double whammy. Cat Girl had hit her throat on the rocking bike and grazed herself by falling onto it and we were worried about any delayed swelling through the night and Boy Wonder was just very unsettled. Cat Girl slept a lot better than we did and looked a lot better this morning with just a small graze. Boy Wonder had set all alarms to wake us for 6am so that he and Cat Girl could give us our wedding anniversary card. However Boy Wonder didn't wake up so we had to get up to keep turning them off!
At 7am we were all awake and the children presented us with their cards and a fun size packet of Haribo's each. Very cute! They then got in our bed and played the roll over game which resulted in them being in our bed and us being kicked out.
Super Man went to work and I went through the usual madness of getting ready for school. Boy Wonder is getting considerably more difficult to get ready in the morning, especially the basics of dressing and eating breakfast. By the time we got to school I felt like my head was going to explode as Boy Wonder was not processing clearly and was high and impulsive. Coupled with more sleep deprivation than usual, not a great mix!
I spoke to a stand in teacher about Boy Wonder's uniform shredding yesterday who seemed to think it amusing ( I don't need to tell you that I didn't!) anyway we got past that and after explaining to Cat Girl's teacher about her incident last night, I left them to it .
I spoke with Boy Wonder's paediatrician today about how he is presenting and she brought his appointment forward to mid November.
After school we went to dance and Jiu Jitsu but due to being quite forgetful today, had to nip home first for Cat Girl's Gi. And there it was on the doorstep .......
The statutory assessment decision had arrived, six weeks before its deadline. That's where the excitement ends though. Boy Wonder has been refused a statement of special educational needs and the recommendations listed are what is already being done! I can't say that we are surprised. It would have been nice to have had a little acknowledgement for his complex needs but clearly that was too much to expect.
Boy Wonder had complained of tummy ache at dance so ended up coming home and missing Jiu Jitsu. Reading his school diary he had, had a rough day and needed a fair bit of support to settle. Welcome to our world!!
Super Man settled the children and I went to the school volunteers meeting and carried on regardless with the view that no matter how we decide to move forward with Boy Wonder's education, the children still need a Christmas Fayre and Santa.
When I returned, Cat Girl was fast asleep and Boy Wonder was wide awake and continues to be......
What a day! Just so angry at the educational needs decision!! Hope Cat Girl is okay now xx
