An Arist in the Midst of Overload!

The late night brought a late morning. We headed down for breakfast for the last sitting. Boy Wonder woke on a high and remained there for the day! He craved sugary foods throughout the day, trying to put sachets of sugar in his drinks and making every attempt to eat only cake and ice cream. At tea time we managed to get him to eat something reasonable but the rest of the day was hit and miss!

We spent the first part of the morning t shirt painting. Boy Wonder managed to keep himself together for this and used great skill in painting a car complete with tyre tracks and an oil spill! Cat Girl painted a pink cat with a little help from Super Man. They were all very proud of their work.

However, he was still struggling with sensory overload becoming very clingy and kissy. He kissed our arms randomly as we walked, ran off and hid with no real reason to do so and rubbed his face in clothes that were for sale in the little shopping arcade under the hotel. The head banging also came back into play, where he bangs his forehead hard with the base of his hand. We came back to the apartment for down time and had a chat with Boy Wonder about his behaviour. In the cool, calm environment of the room he appeared to process what we were saying and take on board that his behaviour was not acceptable. Outside of the room however, he was clearly struggling.

We spent the afternoon by the pool and Boy Wonder and Cat Girl swam and played in the water and the park to the side. He appeared a bit calmer at this point, maybe because he was expelling energy!
This evening we went to a restaurant. The wind blew hard and consequently blew a full glass of beer all over me. I wasn't impressed but the waiters instead of helping stood there and laughed. One took it a bit further and came up to me and laughed in my face as I went to dry off in the toilets. I was now the one struggling to contain my anger and Boy Wonder picked up on this and started to vent on my behalf! We finished our not very adequate food and left. An experience not really worthy of a mention!

We ended the evening outside of the complex in the bouncy jungle. They spent just over half an hour on there and came off exhausted. We had a couple of drinks at the complex on the way back to the apartment. Boy Wonder tipped a drink over his head to cool down which wasn't great as it was very sticky and then became fixated on going to the arcade even though this wasn't on his planner. We said no and suffered the consequences of him running off and climbing on various structures that really shouldn't be climbed!

We returned to the apartment and settled Boy Wonder and Cat Girl down for bed. Another long night is quite possible!
