Friday was a slow news day. Much the same in the way of the school day but no appointments or trips out to complicate matters. Superman picked them up from after school club and then had a last minute errand to run, collecting Cat Girl's antibiotics that she now needed for a UTI that they had picked up during her Doctor visit earlier in the week. At the same time I was stuck at another Chemist sorting out Boy Wonder 's medication changes and quantities to get him over the Christmas period. That was hard work!
Superman settled the children down this evening as I was out with friends for Christmas Dinner. He reported a fairly good night, encouraging Boy Wonder to go to sleep earlier as he needed to be up early for football.
The alarms went off early Saturday morning and the boys got ready for Boy Wonder's football match. They left at 8am and Cat Girl and I planned our morning together. We decided on shopping with her birthday money. ( it isn't her birthday until Wednesday but the following weekend will clash with the last minute Christmas shoppers!) We got ready, made the tree men a drink who had arrived to prune and treat the tree that is holding up the tree house and left.
Initially we went to get a Barcelona football shirt for Boy Wonder and then to the supermarket to buy Christmas cards and alcohol for the festive period. The toys in the supermarket were few and far between so Cat Girl decided upon the big toy shop. And this is where it all got a little out of hand!
I attempted to steer Cat Girl away from the tat and potential Christmas purchases, towards a fabulous pink go kart that she seemed to like. Unfortunately it was parked on the same isle as a bright pink Mini Cooper, electric car. Having very little ability to say no to Cat Girl when she gives the 'look' plus the fact that it was her money, the car was purchased!
On arrival home, the boys met us and Superman got the pleasure of building the new vehicle! He did his usual sensible speech of 'where will she ride it etc' but took the point that Cat Girl has her own mind and we will never win! Boy Wonder liked the car but then went into a rant about his toy lander not being finished. He demanded that if it wasn't finished soon that he would employ a handy man! We agreed that if it wasn't finished by the end of August next year, he could do that.
Superman went off to fetch some logs and I took Boy Wonder on his scooter and Cat Girl in her new car down to Super Gran's. The car was very slow and a ten minute walk took half an hour! Boy Wonder was very patient. We got there eventually and stayed for a while. Superman joined us later as there was no way the car would make it back on its limited battery life! Boy Wonder spent time sat in the shoe cupboard reading a joke book and we relaxed. Whilst there, Supernan received a text from the football coach to say that Boy Wonder had been named 'Man of the Match!' Well done Boy Wonder, he was very pleased!
Superman and I were out tonight for Christmas dinner with friends ( two nights in a row for me!) so other Grandparents baby sat. Boy Wonder was very tired today so settled without problem after playing a couple of games with Grandad and fixing a win!
Boy Wonder has his last dance exam in the morning so hoping for a good night's sleep ( well over due !)
