Birthday celebrations

We woke the children earlier than normal this morning so that we could celebrate Cat Girl's birthday. Boy Wonder coped well with this and helped her to read her cards. After getting washed and dressed he also helped her to put her birthday badges on.  We had a couple of 'birthday' visitors before school and then got sorted to leave armed with cakes.

I sent the OT assessment out today and finalised the date for the next MDT meeting. We also sent the appeal papers to the tribunal in hope that they will get processed before the deadline.

The school day was another mish mash of Christmas festivities which caused havoc for Boy Wonder as he ended up in a couple of scrapes with other children. He was also very hyper and all over the place when I picked him up.

We came home and had tea, followed shortly after by a visit from a play therapy worker. It was a brief introductory visit to discuss structured play sessions. It was going well until she stated that it wasn't what we wanted as parents that she was interested in but what the children wanted and needed.   I felt like reminding her that we had invited her into our home with the intention of working with us ...... Anyway we will see what happens between now and the proposed next visit.

Boy Wonder went back to school this evening for his carol concert whilst a few family visited for Cat Girl's birthday. She's been one lucky little girl . We waited for Boy Wonder to finish and her cousin to finish her club and then we did the birthday cake. After cake, playing with toys and general chat, visitors left and the children settled down for bed.

Cat Girl was exhausted and went straight to bed. Boy Wonder played music for a while and sang songs. One more carol concert  tomorrow and then that's it for now :-)
