Dance exam and chill

We made a good attempt at a lie in this morning, 9am. Sheer exhaustion had clearly taken hold of Boy Wonder for that to happen! We decided to have a steady day today, preparing for the Christmas madness and later taking Boy Wonder to his Ballet exam.

After a late brunch, Superman did a quick repair in the chicken coop/run before taking Boy Wonder to his exam. Cat Girl and I cleaned out the animals, wrapped presents and took her new car out for a ride. It was quite cold today and rained on and off. This meant that the car ride was in between showers with it being a cabriolet!

Boy Wonder returned from his exam and seemed to think that it went well, will just have to wait and see now! The results usually take a couple of weeks.

We had dinner and wrote Christmas cards. Boy Wonder set all of his out and did them class table by table. He was very methodical and ploughed through them. Cat Girl on the other hand was a nightmare. She did six and then became bored. Only another 26 to go! Superman helped her to maintain momentum and eventually she got there! We then watched the Nativity 2 film which was very good. Boy Wonder asked a lot of questions but strangely not about the teacher getting his class to abseil down a cliff with just a rope. This was obviously perfectly acceptable!

After the film, Cat Girl went up to bed and Boy Wonder went up and had a bath. Superman checked
On him after a short while and found him in his room and was playing Top trumps . Superman smiled and went out. Later BoyWonder shouted me upstairs and presented me with a poem that he had written about being sad. We spoke about what was making him sad and he originally stated that Superman had laughed at him when he was playing a game with his dolphin and that he wanted to play more games with us. As we spoke further it became clear that this wasn't the real issue. Boy Wonder was worried about Christmas , I.e not getting any presents because he is naughty and all the changes at school and with clubs are fun but confusing and worrying. He presented very similarly the week leading up to his birthday. I reassured him that we loved him very much and that everything is okay. Superman then went upstairs to Boy Wonder to do the same reassurances and he then tried to settle. After a few minutes, Boy Wonder came downstairs and using 'dolphin sign language' told me that he wanted to settle down with us. He fell to sleep eventually.
