After another unsettled night, Boy Wonder awoke quite early and embarked on further Mine Craft adventures. I get the feeling that this game is going to be the next obsession. It could be worse and indeed has been in previous years, what with emergency services , castles, Henry hoovers .....
Strangely the Hoover obsession has been one of the most difficult to manage, especially when out. At the tender age of 2-3 years old Boy Wonder used to seek them out and follow them when they were in use. Department stores, hospital corridors, we have walked miles in pursuit of Henry!
Another day at holiday club today. They appear to have been forgiven for their illegal activity, today is a new day! Lots of Lego structures built today. Boy Wonder took the role of site manager and gave orders to fellow builders to achieve the ultimate build. It has to be said that this was mighty impressive!
On the way to Jiu Jitsu Boy Wonder used his time to design a car, a Lamborghini V10. The finished product had full specification listed and a detailed comparison between this car and the Bugatti Veron . This included MPH, 0-60 speed, Stig Lap time etc . Cat Girl requested that Boy Wonder design her a BMW Pink on the journey home. This achieved, Boy Wonder announced that he would write to the Government with his designs. I suggested that maybe writing to the car garages would be more suitable? Of course not be replied, these are very important!
It would seem that Boy Wonder is now well and truly in holiday mode and is chilling nicely. School holidays are wonderful as with reduced anxiety he is one happy child :-D

Watering the flowers.
So what did last night bring? The answer was number 3. Boy Wonder couldn't settle last night. In and out of mini sleeps. At 11pm he woke with a start, crying out. On investigation he told of his dream - being locked in a tomb with fire all around him and outside there were dogs barking, ready to attack him! We went through the routine of dispelling bad dreams and he attempted to settle again. There were further episodes of falling out of bed and snippets of fire related tales so at 11.30pm I gave up and went to sleep with him in his bed. Working Wonder Woman powers in the form of a firm hold hug, Boy Wonder finally settled. (Settled is another term that we use loosely, it means constant movement and sleep talking but we believe that because his eyes are shut it qualifies!)
Just like every other morning, Boy Wonder snores on. Cat Girl investigates and returns tip toeing with her finger on her lips, whispering Ssshh, sleeping beauty is still sleeping. Cat Girl enjoys the quiet moments, they are very rare!
Boy Wonder attends holiday club today, this week the theme is 'The Seaside.' He doesn't seem impressed as in his words 'we are clearly not at the seaside so what is the point?' The Lego table was promptly set up!
On picking Boy Wonder up from holiday club he appeared a little frazzled. As we drove away he told me that holiday club had broken the law today as they played a copy of a film currently in the cinema. I told him not to worry and that it would be okay. He ignored my reassurance and went on to say that he had investigated the matter and explained to the bad person about their naughty/ illegal behaviour. Oh good, I am glad that you managed to sort it Boy Wonder, excellent work! Note to self: May need to find a back up holiday club.
This evening Boy Wonder attends Jiu Jitsu. I suggested to him that we add another session in this week as he has his grading on Saturday. He assured me that this wasn't necessary as he is already perfect. Wonderful, I say.
On arrival home, Superman asks me why I have taken to watering toy ( fluffy pink) flowers? I didn't realise I had! Cat Girl solves the mystery by explaining that it was Boy Wonder. It was in a vase so he watered it!
The final task of the evening before the mammoth task of setting Boy Wonder down for bed is to empty the bags ready for tomorrow. Within Boy Wonder's bag I find a very intricate drawing of the Titanic. He obviously engaged in the seaside theme after all and even managed to incorporate his favourite death and destruction fixation in for good measure!
All in all, a very good day I say!

It's a Hard Knock Life....
All is calm in 'Hero Land' this morning. You will not read that phrase on here very often! Today it's a farm trip for Boy Wonder with Group Inspire and he is very happy.
The day trip was a success in part, however the bus was late picking up and dropping off which upset Boy Wonder's mood somewhat. As a result he shouted alot, attempted to give the lap top flying lessons and recited the extended version of 'It's a Hard Knock Life' over and over again in the car on the way to swimming. A pretty standard Boy Wonder protest. How I love his Drama group for teaching him that song.
After the swimming lesson and a 10 minute shower ( despite people waiting to use the facilities!) Boy Wonder began to calm. I took the opportunity to ask him about his day at the farm to which he responded by telling Cat Girl and I all about the mechanical milking cow and where each screw was positioned! Cat Girl stated that this was very boring and would prefer to be told about the pigs. Boy Wonder ignored her request and continued his spiel. I asked no further questions!
Later in the evening Boy Wonder's massage therapist arrives. After explicit instruction on what he requires, he jumps on the massage table and has his treatment. Now the idea behind this therapy is to provide Boy Wonder with deep pressure therapy to work on his hyposensitivity to touch. It is early days and at the moment he is fighting the 'relaxed' feeling as he has very little experience of it and what to do with it. ( By little I actually mean none!) As a result he quizzes the therapist on complex mathematical sums whilst she attempts to massage, lucky lady! The massage finishes and Boy Wonder is herded straight to the bath in an attempt to extend the 'relaxation.' Five minutes later, bath complete, it is bed time.
Bedtime seemed to be fairly easy tonight. Boy Wonder is keen to settle down with the earlier rescued lap top. On closer inspection it is evident why.... He has created 'The Great Fire of London' on Minecraft with the addition of lava! One day I will tell you the story behind this topic but for now be assured that it is number 10 on the anxiety scale. (10 being the highest.) So what does this mean? My guess is any of the following:
1.) I don't like this relaxed feeling so I am going to find one that I know what to do with, I.e anxiety = meltdown.
2.) I am going to prove my theory that the Great Fire of London will happen again!
3.) I am going to fight my tiredness by giving myself nightmare material!
Answers on a postcard.......
Good night all :-)

It's Just The Beginning.....
Day one of the blog and we celebrate good news! After months or maybe years of fighting we have managed to get a statutory assessment for Boy Wonder. You would think that with a complex diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, OCD, associated anxiety disorder, Chiari Malformation and undiagnosed seizures that this would be easy? You would be wrong ! Boy Wonder you see is ridiculously bright and presents as the perfect child at school, therefore apart from eating through his uniform on a daily basis and being a bit 'odd' the assumption is that he is okay.
However, out of school Boy Wonder has a hard time holding it together. Our adventures are a mixture of meltdowns, random outbursts but more importantly unique moments of sheer genius from Boy Wonder and equally stunning shows of genuine love for big brother by Cat Girl.
The first few days of the school holidays have been a hive of hyperactivity and intensity, or in other words, Boy Wonder settling into holiday routine! However, the anxiety has reduced significantly and the feeling now seems to be genuine excitement and anticipation of the holiday schedule.
As a super hero family we live by schedules and routine. We learned the hard way that this is the only way to survive! The plus side of this is that we all know what we are doing and when. Therefore the next few weeks will be all about school holiday life including a holiday to Bulgaria, days out and the next Jiu Jitsu grading. Enjoy!
